Big Joe’s Cafe

Before my regular computer crashed, I was working on a couple of projects and one of them was a website for Big Joe’s Cafe. Fortunately, the site is almost finished. I was able to continue working on the site with the computer that I’m currently using.

Free WordPress Theme For Everyone

Here is a simple WordPress Theme which anyone can use on their own WordPress powered blogs. This particular theme has 3 columns and the 2 sidebars are widget ready. The colors I used on the theme are black, white, shades of grey and shades of cyan and blue. The top area gets its link from the blogs pages and displays them in a horizontal menu like fashion.

WordPress 2.6 Upgrade

So, WordPress released another update and, as always, I immediately upgraded all my wordpress blogs to it. One main reason why you should upgrade is that it keeps your wordpress blog updated with all the latest security fixes. Additional features and enhancements, at least for me, are second only to security.

Upgrading from WordPress 2.5.1 to 2.6 is very easy. In fact, it is so easy that I don’t do back-ups anymore when upgrading. I know, I should back-up my database before upgrading. Today, the worst thing happened. I upgraded this blog to WordPress 2.6 and what it did was, it corrupted my database and since I have no back-up I was stuck with it. :( Read the rest of this entry »

First In Action’s WordPress Theme

A few months back I worked on a WordPress Theme for First In Action. The project was to create a blue version of an already existing WordPress Theme. The work was not really that difficult, in fact, it was dead easy but, unfortunately, things were added which were not in the original request. Well, I really didn’t mind since the request were very easy and doable like installing WordPress.

A problem I encountered while working on First In Action’s WordPress Theme was not even related to the creation of the theme. The problem was with the server because everything was handled by redirects and rewrites. The server rewrites all the files without an extension making it appear like a directory.
