WordPress 2.6 Upgrade

So, WordPress released another update and, as always, I immediately upgraded all my wordpress blogs to it. One main reason why you should upgrade is that it keeps your wordpress blog updated with all the latest security fixes. Additional features and enhancements, at least for me, are second only to security.

Upgrading from WordPress 2.5.1 to 2.6 is very easy. In fact, it is so easy that I don’t do back-ups anymore when upgrading. I know, I should back-up my database before upgrading. Today, the worst thing happened. I upgraded this blog to WordPress 2.6 and what it did was, it corrupted my database and since I have no back-up I was stuck with it. Read the rest of this entry »

Place Your Ad Here (125×125)

I was doing my daily rounds of Entrecard dropping today when I noticed that some websites have empty Project Wonderful ads spots that use the default Project Wonderful “Your Ad Here” banner. Most of those I saw were 125×125 banners which are very popular with blogs. Well, some of my blogs are serving ads from Project Wonderful too and when I joined PW I made my own 125×125 “Your Ad Here” banner because the default one is too plain.

Anyway, today I made 10 simple 125×125 “Your Ad Here” banners which anyone can use anyway they want. The images below are hosted at ImageShack. You can download any of it by right-clicking on the one you like and selecting “Save Image As…” for Firefox or “Save Picture As…” for Internet Explorer.

Extending First Life to Second Life

As a freelancer, I do all my personal marketing. From writing articles, free designs, forum postings, classified advertising, guestbook and blog hopping, social bookmarking, tagging, pinging, web directory submissions and anything I can think of to promote and market myself and my service. The latest one is starting a small shop in Second Life.Second Life? Second Life or SL is a virtual world created by Linden Labs. It is very much like the real world where people can interact with each like sell goods and services, hold events, collaborate on projects, etc. It is also like the internet but instead of 2D webpages you see everything in 3D.
