Champions Online, Modified Ads Theme Blogger Template

I’m currently playing Champions Online and I’m really enjoying the game since it went Free-To-Play. For those who are not familiar with Champions Online, it is a Superhero Themed MMORPG based on the Champions Pen-and-Paper Comic Book Superhero RPG and published and developed by Cryptic Studios.

As you can see from the screenshots above, I have created a new modification of my favorite Ads Theme Blogger Template and this modification is inspired by Champions Online.

It is basically just a color scheme modification with a huge change in the header area. The header is now much taller and it features a big image created from images taken in Champions Online. On top of the header is the Title and Description for the blog. It also displays a standard 468×60 banner than can be changed or removed in Blogger.

If you are a fan of Champions Online who has a Champions Online blog that is powered by Blogger.com then this blogger template can be for you. I’m currently using it on Nude Girl in Red which is a blog about Champions Online but with a different header image.

To use this Modified Ads Theme Blogger Template, simply click on the download button below, unzipped it to your hard drive and upload the XML file to your blogger blog. You can further edit and customize it under the design area of your blogger blog.

Blue Skies, Modified Ads Theme Blogger Template

The Ads Theme Blogger Template by eblogtemplates.com is a favorite of mine and it’s the one I use for blogger powered blogs. Previously, I shared one modified version of it here and today I’ll be sharing another one. I named the first one Ads Theme Space Blogger Template because it has a Space/Sci-Fi look to it and for this one I named it Blue Skies.

The colors I used for Blue Skies are White, Blue, Gray and Red (in that order of importance). Blue Skies is also not just a color scheme modification. The header and navigation area were modified to use a background image instead of the plain solid color background and the same goes to the background of the body.

Free WordPress Theme For Everyone

Here is a simple WordPress Theme which anyone can use on their own WordPress powered blogs. This particular theme has 3 columns and the 2 sidebars are widget ready. The colors I used on the theme are black, white, shades of grey and shades of cyan and blue. The top area gets its link from the blogs pages and displays them in a horizontal menu like fashion.

How To Install and Use?

Download the ZIP file
In your WordPress Dashboard go to Appearance > Add New Themes
Choose Upload and click on Browse to find the ZIP file that you just saved or downloaded
Select it by clicking on it, click Open and then click on the Install Now button to install it
Once installed you can either Preview it, Activate it or you can just Return to the Themes Page

First In Action’s WordPress Theme

A few months back I worked on a WordPress Theme for First In Action. The project was to create a blue version of an already existing WordPress Theme. The work was not really that difficult, in fact, it was dead easy but, unfortunately, things were added which were not in the original request. Well, I really didn’t mind since the request were very easy and doable like installing WordPress.

A problem I encountered while working on First In Action’s WordPress Theme was not even related to the creation of the theme. The problem was with the server because everything was handled by redirects and rewrites. The server rewrites all the files without an extension making it appear like a directory.

Now that is where the problem came in. I installed First In Action’s WordPress blog in a directory named /firstinaction and since there was already a file named firstinaction.php, the blog became unaccessible. The only time the blog will appear is when you add a trailing “/” mark at the end of “firstinaction”.

The problem was beyond the scope of the project but I still tried to help them resolve it. In the end, they contacted their programmer for assistance. I guess he was the one who did the rewrites.

The project took longer than expected because I think they were also busy with other things but it doesn’t matter because the people behind First In Action are really nice people and I did get paid in the end anyway.
