The materials provided by the client are the name or logo and the coins with plant image. Of course, the images can be changed anytime. The client just need to send over their preferred images and I’ll replace the ones I used in the design. If the client is fine with the images used then it is still up to the client if they want to keep it or change it.{adinserter Adcode04}

The client has yet to request any revisions or changes. My guess is, the client is already happy with the submitted designs. Now, all the client has to do is pick the one he will use as his E-Book Cover. Of course, that part has absolutely nothing to do with me.

The DVD Disc Case and Cover design for the Live It Now Disc (seen above) was the first one I did and it was followed by the DVD Disc Case and Cover design for the Free Audio Download Disc. The client didn’t have any specific instructions for the design except maybe for the text on it and logo on the Live It Now Case and Disc. I was free to design the Case and Cover anyway I want.{adinserter Adcode03}

I submitted both designs and, fortunately, the client liked both of them and didn’t ask for any revisions or changes at all. I wish all clients are like that because, too many revisions can really drag a project to a crawl. There are even times when the revised design will look totally different like it was a whole new design after being revised numerous times.

Don’t get me wrong, revisions are okay but if there are too many things to revise in a particular design then it would be better, faster and more efficient to simply ask for a new design than to try to fix a design with hundreds of revisions.

Anyway, creating designs for things like these can be interesting. I have no idea how to do them but I still do them regardless. If I need to find out how or need to learn something then there is no better teacher than the World Wide Web.

Aspiring designers can also enhance their skills through art classes online.

The first DVD Disc Cover Design I made was for Investwell Marketing. As you can see from the design above, the design bleeds off the edge of the Disc but none of those will show when the design is printed on Disc. The client also got the Photoshop file of the design so they will be able to remove guides and edit the design if they feel like it.

The second DVD Disc Cover Design was for Live It Now. As you can see from the design below, the design is very simple and has lots of white space because the client requested it that way, simple and has lots of white space. Again, the client also received the Photoshop file of the design so they will be edit it as well.

Thanks to Google and the DVD Disc Cover Template that I downloaded I was able to do this job for the client. Fortunately, the client was happy with the designs and I’m also looking forward to receiving more DVD Disc Cover Designs from him.

(The Beat with McKenna Banner)

The client requested two banners for The Beat with McKenna and these two banners came in two different sizes. The sizes requested were 923×140 and 632×357 but both banners had almost the same look and feel. I don’t remember if the client requested two different designs but both banners where accepted, approved and paid for.

The design of the banners had a tropical or island look and feel. I used a nice sunset scene as a background and added some palm trees on it. The banners also featured the host of the show, McKenna. She is the beautiful woman with a big smile on the banner. The client sent a few pictures of her which were all beautiful but I selected the one that I felt showed her better.

As for problems met while creating the banners? Well, there weren’t any at all. The client immediately liked the design of the banners but did ask a couple of font changes. The client sent a couple of fonts and requested that I use them instead of the fonts I had on the banners. Other changes were done on the design but they were very, very minor like resizing the IslandBeat.com logo and adjusting the position of the title.

Overall, the client was very, very easy to work with and you can check them out at IslandBeats.com.

As for the design of the banners, I used images or photos related to warehousing, deliveries, storage and fashion. The colors I used on the banners were based on the colors of the logo which was provided by the client. I was given permission to try other colors  in the design of the banners but I kept it simple and stuck with the colors of the logo.

For this project, the client paid me $5 USD per banner for a total amount of $15 USD for all three banners and I was able to deliver them to the client as soon as they were finished.

The banner above is just one of these banners and currently I have about 6 of them but more will be created as I continue to blog about various things. Although, these banners were created to fit my blogs’ content area, I will share them here so that anyone who wish to use them can easily do so.

Currently, the banners are hosted in my account in Imgur.com. Imgur is a free image hosting site just like Imageshack and Photobucket. This will make sharing the banners much easier because anyone can hot link to them directly without having any problems. Anyone can also save them in their computers and upload them to a different image hosting site if they don’t feel like using the ones hosted at Imgur.com.

Again, please remember that these are non-standard sized banners. The size of these banners are 520×280 pixels. If they fit your websites or blogs then you are more than welcome to use them specially if you are promoting or marketing or advertising the same items shown in the banners.

Anyway, these banners are free to use by anyone. Just copy the direct link or save and upload them to your preferred image hosting and your done. Afterwards, you can put them on your blogs or websites to advertise your own links and offers.

In designing the header, the only reference that I used was the blog itself. The colors, messaging, images and even the height and width of the header were all based on her live blog. This made the completed header blend well with the rest of the blog.

For this project, the first item that I worked on was the design for the Landing Page because the design of the Congratulations Page and Blogger Template was to be based on it. When the Landing Page design was finish, I sent it to the client for review and he was very happy with it. He did request a few minor changes but the changes were more on text placements which didn’t take too long to do. When that was finish, it was followed by the Congratulations page and both were sliced and coded into HTML afterwards.

For the Blogger Template, the client agreed to simply modify an existing Template to match the design of the Landing Page. The modification wasn’t entirely hard but it still took me a couple of hours to finish it. The only issue the client had with the Blogger Template was with the comment area. For some reason, it wasn’t showing on the template. I was able to resolve this issue quickly (thanks to Google, LOL).

Both the HTML files and PSD files used in the project were sent to the client upon completion.
