Upgrading from WordPress 2.5.1 to 2.6 is very easy. In fact, it is so easy that I don’t do back-ups anymore when upgrading. I know, I should back-up my database before upgrading. Today, the worst thing happened. I upgraded this blog to WordPress 2.6 and what it did was, it corrupted my database and since I have no back-up I was stuck with it.
I was able to recover most of the post entries but the comments are lost forever. Some of the post entries were either empty or incomplete but with the help of Google’s cache I was able to complete and restore them.
I’m not sure what really happened but I only encountered this problem with this one. I was able to upgrade my other wordpress blogs to 2.6 smoothly.
Anyway, I’m still happy that it happened to this blog because this one is really just a portfolio site with not so many post. If that happened to my most active blog then I would be pulling my hairs out right now. LOL!
